Insoluble sulfur IS series (high dispersion and high heat stability type)
It is a non-toxic, flammable yellow powder named for its insolubility in carbon disulfide. It is made by ordinary sulfur thermal polymerization, the number of sulfur atoms on the molecular chain is as high as 108 or more, there is a polymer viscosity and molecular weight distribution, so also known as elastic sulfur or polymeric sulfur, belongs to inorganic polymer chemical raw materials.
Details
Sulfur, commonly known as sulfur, powder is light yellow powder, has a special odor, soluble in carbon disulfide, insoluble in water. There are many allotropes. orthorhombic sulfur is also called rhombic sulfur or α-sulfur. It is very stable below 95.5 ℃, with a density of 2.1g/cm3, a melting point of 112.8 ℃, a boiling point of 445 ℃, brittle and difficult to transfer heat and conduct electricity. Monoclinic sulfur, also known as β-sulfur, is stable above 95.5 with a density of 1.96g/cm3. Elastic sulfur, also known as γ-sulfur, is amorphous and unstable, easily converted to alpha-sulfur. Both orthorhombic sulfur and monoclinic sulfur are composed of S8 cyclic molecules, which are composed of chain molecules in liquid state, S8, S4, S2 and other molecules in vapor, and S2 is composed of S2 above 1000 ℃.
